Built in the 1930's, an old sofa from a later period is all that remains in this old schoolroom at Carden Bottom school. The corners of the room, near the chimney, are the first to become victim to the weather and erosion, causing a natural skylight.
If you look closely into the corner, you can see the layers of erosion of paint, wood, and rock. If you look through the windows, you can see the outlines of a covered archway which leads to the gym.
